It is very important to eat a balanced diet of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Maintaining a balanced diet and exercising will let you achieve a long life, more energy and a life without disease.
This picture gives us an idea of what a balanced diet would look like. The bulk of our diet should consist of fruits, vegetables, breads and cereals. Fruits and vegetables supply our body with lots of vitamins and minerals. Breads and cereals supply our body with carbohydrates which are our main source of energy. After those come our dairy foods, meat and fish. Dairy foods give us lots of calcium for bone strength. Meat and fish supply us with lots of protein. The rest are fatty and sugary foods which are high in fat, salt or sugar and provide little or no nutritional value to our bodies.
